Almost black with lasting head. Aroma and flavour are predominantly bittersweet with caramel tones. Smooth and creamy. Low intensity.

Very nice porter, perfect example of a simple brown porter. Pours dark brown with lots of head, this dissipates after a while though. aroma is restrained but classic of a porter, with dark malts and chocolate in the foreground, some liquorice and even some smoke being hinted at. Mouthfeel is of medium body and not thick, a bit boring maybe. Flavours are very classic again and similar to aroma, dark malts, chocolate, coffee, liquorice and some toffee. Finishes short and roasty. A very nice example of a classic Porter!

Bottle shared on an old train lumbering through the Isle of Wight...typical RB day out. Pours rich brown with a foamy tan head. The aroma holds dark fruits, dried berries. Medium sweet flavor with some oily chocolate, moderate roast, light ashy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; lightly chewy. Finishes fairly sweet with notes of toasted bread, old fruit, light dirty leather, berries and plums. Good stuff.

Semi opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry with mild fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, very light roast. Traces of coffee and tangy dark fruits. Dry finish. Inoffensive but at the end of the day, just another porter.

Bottle on a 1938 stock train after pissing off the end of the platform next to some other persons turd ... yes its the IOW Jolly Day, bottle from the GBBF, 24/08/14. Light black with a moderate tan covering that retains. Nose is roast malt, dark toffee, light cocoa, brown bread. Taste comprises earthy tones, cocoa, dark toffee, roast malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with roasty tones. Ok porter, fairly simple stuff but ticks the style boxes.
