A 330 ml bottle that came to me from The Cellar in Odessa I believe, have had it for some time, need to try it.The cap is lifted and I make a pour into a glass stein, appropriately. It delivers a light caramel colored body with a assertive, barely tan, foam top. I have a smell, barley, a bit of malt and bread. A taste, a big improvement over the nose. I find malt, caramel, some woodiness and pecan. A pleasant surprise.

33cl bottle; BB 4th Sep 19. Drank on 30th Oct 18 in my 'Stateroom' on a cruise liner docked in Kiel. When I say Stateroom I mean 'Cabin'. When I say Cabin I mean 'Boxroom' of course (next to the stoker in 'cattle class'). Anyway there was a fridge in the room and clean glasses, so I utilized them. Clear amber pour, large beige head. Malty brew with sweet molasses ruling both the aroma and taste. My sweet tooth took the the caramel like sweetness from the start, a little more hop content wouldn't hurt this though.

Bottle. Copper coloured with a small head that quickly diminishes. Some lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, raisins and herbal hops. Taste is malty, grainy and slightly nutty, sweet and spicy. Caramel and cough syrup. Aftertaste showcases bits of hoppy bitterness and alcoholic warmth. Medium carbonation. Quite thin for its strength. Solid.

$2.60 bottle from Wine Warehouse. Pours deep amber, clear, with an off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, cheep beer, roasted malts, grasses. Flavor is heavy on the caramel, but a strange version of caramel - a little too sweet, but also a little too grainy? Also grassy and earthy.

Mar ’15. A 0.33 l bottle from some supermarket in Berlin. It poured clear copper body with a small head. Sweet malty aroma, alcohol, a bit earthy. Flavor was sweet too, but roasted component gets more into the focus, although caramel and brown sugar were probably still most dominating. Notable alcohol, too. Medium body with long sweet caramel finish and a light bitter alcohol bite. All in all, not bad as it might sound, but far from a good Dunkler Bock.
