Burgundy brown ale with a thin moka head. Sweet cherries in aroma, light earthy notes, but corlked. Sweet diluted malt with fruits, earthy notes, cherries, flat, troublesome. Enjoyed at YEHa!05 Christmas Party on Dec. 17th, 2005.

Bottled. Black/dark ruby red colour, mediumsized dark beige head. Sweet caramellish aroma with some hints of sweet malts and raisins. Flavour is sweet malts and plum, raisins and some hops in finish. Aftertaste is caramellish hoppy. Very pleasant.

Bottled. Dark ruby, no head. Aroma of black currant. Sweet and malty with a hint of balsamic acidity as well as black cherries and raspberries. Roasty with notes of licorice. Salty finish. Complex and very good!

(Bottle 25 cl) Vintage 2003 at 9% ABV: very dark brown, almost opaque. Pronounced impurities from the bottle fermentation. Weak, light brown head. Extremely delicious malt aromas, slightly smoked and rather dry but not sharp at all with a rather subdued bitterness. The alcohol is scaringly well hidden. 040505 As "Kerstpater" 6,5% ABV, probably vintage 1997. 7/4/7/3/14=3,5

Nearly stoutlike blackness; brown head, very creamy. Very heavy dark malt, grassy, autumn leaves. Perfumed, but in a nice way. Very sweet, with again leafy notes, lots of liquorice and a perfumed side flavour, maybe some subtle spice. Bit oily, medium bodied, alcohol comes out after some time. Not bad as sweet beers go, but people might find this sickly sweet, I reckon. It seems to beg for a bag of mulled wine spices, and a hot poker from the fire. Perfect to "style", then.

Bottled (BB 02/2007)
Dark brown with nice creamy coffee head. Aroma is malty and sweet raisins. Meidum-bodied, christmas pudding taste. Flavor has raisins and grapefruit. Quite light for such a high ABV. Late grassy hoppyness is nice.

Nice dark color, thick creamy off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, raisin, spicy ginger or cinnamon, bit port wine also. Sweet vinous roasted malty taste. Sharp and a bit bitter palate. Very nice!
