Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a very dark mahogany colour with a medium creamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, plums and caramel. Taste has more dry dark fruits, more plums and caramel, some brown sugar and a little warming alcohol. Sweet finish. Medium to full body with fairly low carbonation. Decent winter beer if maybe a little too sweet for me ideally.

Tap at BGB. Clear cola body, off-white head. Wine notes, red wine, lean but sweetish, yeasty touches. Sweet taste - raisins, wine, citric touches, a bit yeasty, heavy maltiness - but okay. Yeah, fine overall but not a wow.

Bottle, bb 8/23. Dark brown with a beige head that doesn't last all that well. Intriguing chocolate and burnt spiced toffee aroma. Some red berries, wine. Full bodied. Very sweet and quite boozy with chocolate and caramel, sweet cherries, but also a little vinous and sour cherry edge and that odd burnt toffee note that has a bitter touch to it. An interesting way to balance. Very rich - 330ml is shareable amongst 2-3.

Vert dark color. Creamy brown head. Malty, cherry aroma. Full bodied with roasted malt and coffee. Some cherry sourness. Interesting beer that doesn't hide its Flemish roots.

330ml bottle. Bruna-rossiccia, schiuma avorio-beige media. Al naso note di malto, caramello, datteri maturi, spezie. In bocca è dolce, maltata e speziata, classica natalizia belga. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione medio-leggera. Buona.

Draft at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours a nice black with small head of cream foam, very fine and persistent. Aroma is malty, caramel, candy sugar, coffee liquor, licorice. Body is dense with moderate carbonation. Taste has good sweetness, moderated by alcohol. Finish is fairly long and liquor-like, recalling licorice.
