It evokes the Quebec legend of La Chasse-galerie – or flying canoe – which tells the tale of men who would risk anything for a night of fun, even making a pact with the devil.

A massive pillowy off-white head, well laced, over a translucent orange/amber body. The nose features Belgian yeast (banana and bubblegum), malt and brown sugar. A beautifully blended begian double, feature classic tastes of brown sugar, roasted malt, caramel, dark berries and dried fruit. Belgian yeast is central to the mix. Nutmeg and other spices and a backdrop of floral hops contribute to a great taste experience.

Think this is a 2013 bottle. Rich and sweet, nice toasted malts, berries, mellow caramel and toffee, nips of grape, minimal oxidation, some bready malts. Quite tasty and drinkable.

15/2/2025. Bottle at the ITFC vintage and rare Saturday share part 2. From Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Opens lively. Pours clear amber brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is toffee, biscuit, caramac, sugar syrup. Quite sweet, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily watery, quite fizzy.
