Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5
Cask at Max’s. Bubbly head - meaning just a few bubbles - warm, flattish cask pour. Completely murky, no clarity brown color. Aroma is strong with sherry like raisin syrup, light cherry. Not astringent and alcohol heft but not off the barrel, actual fermentation. Spirit alcohol felt in taste. Love the lack of astringency, aged malts, raisin alcohol candy. Evaporating spirit mouthfeel. I can do 5oz and the cask helps this strong beer. I actually don’t know what Sagamore is but I am guessing not bourbon but more likely scotch. Bourbon would be more offending to my palate. Just checked and its apparently rye whiskey. Obviously, I couldn’t tell.
