Golden reddish amber with a big bubbled white head. Vinous fruity aroma with pears and light hops. Sweet caramel in mouth, with notes of vanilla, licorice and oranges. Viscous bodied, rich and smooth in mouth, loud aclohol notes, remaining in mouth throughout! Excellent. Can from Piscator, from Manitoba.Merci Kris!

Dark amber with a short lived, bubbly head. Aroma of malt, dried fruits, sherry, alcohol. Sweet flavour with only a bit of balancing bitterness at the end, and plenty of alcohol showing through. Fresh beer rating: 2.7

Re-rate: A 15 years old bottle was much more pleasant. The sherry now completely dominated the aroma, and the flavour was more harmonic. Cellared rating: 3.1

Re-rate: Aged a few years. Vineous and sweet, with dried fruit and dessert wine. Very lightly dusty cellar character, but a fine complexity

This is a pleasant beer. Light red color with a head that only lasts for seconds. Light aroma with carmel and some malt. Flavor has a little alcohol, more carmel, and the standard bock flavor of malt. Very smooth and easy to drink. The alcohol is hidden well. A low key beer that doesn’t hit hard in any way but is great for slow sipping.

Bottled at Fynske Øldage, Odense, Denmark. Quite flat, dark golden, with an off-white head. Aroma is mostly malty sweetness and alcohol. Warming, sweet malty flavor. Full bodied. Rating: 6-3-7-4-14-3.4. 051029

Bottle, at Esbjerg Beerfestival. A clear, amber beer with a minimal off-white head. Vinous nose with alcohol, lots of caramel and sweetness. Sweet, warm flavor with caramel. Throat-warming, full-bodied and slightly sticky from the sweetness. A sipper, but too warm for my preference, more muscles than elegance. 091023

Pour is a dark orange with a white head Aroma is lots of caramel and brown sugar. Lots of brown sugar in the flavor so much so it takes over the flavor. overall its ok. try an drink it on an empty belly.,as it is very heavy.

Bottle. Sweet plum, brown sugar aroma initially that changes to a sour peach as it warms. Brown-orange-red color with small disappearing head. Sweet plum flavor initially again in the flavor that turn sour for a moment before fading into an astringent alcohol flavor in the finish. The astringency is more typical of the bock style - probably one of the most representative of this style.

Largish finely laced head. Amber, whisky-like colour. Aroma is dense caramelly malts with notes of dried fruit and straw, with some alcohol. Powerful malty caramelly strawberry taste with alcohol and straw notes. Clean and harmonic, with considerable alcohol heat. Dry straw and caramel aftertaste. Smooth and quite balanced. Full-bodied. Very good for such a strong beer. (0.33l bottle at Hagleite, Kulmbach, originally. Rerated from 0.1l taster from bottle at EBF ’08.)

(bottle) Clear amber colour with a small creamy white head. Sweet malty and fruity nose with hints of alcohol. Intense sweet flavour. Toastmalty taste with dried fruits and caramel and an alcoholic slightly hopbitter finish. Definitely not bad but it probably tastes better on a cold winter evening.
