Bottle, 750 ml, courtesy of Mandar. Shared with him and others. 2016 vintage. Cloudy golden, no head. Funky, citrus, some tea notes, nice sourness, bit juicy. Medium bodied.

Tap @ Borefts 2012. Pale blonde. Soft citrus notes in the aroma. Soft citrus flavor. Thinnish. Sharp but smooth Berliner Weisse type.

750 mL bottle poured at Masonry, Fremont. Quite a treat here. Shiny golden pour. Thin and fading head. Quite an interesting funk in the aroma. Intriguing. Dry front, almost champagne like year, slight citrus like fruit. Lemon and lime, with a bite. Dry, citrus slight bitter and sour finish. Excellent brew

750 ml bottle into signature tulip glass; Batch #2, bottled on 8/23/2016. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy pale golden/straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pineapple, melon, green apple, pear, white grape, white wine, pepper, oak, hay, straw, herbal, grass, tea, wheat, and cracker; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, tea, oak barrels, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pineapple, melon, green apple, pear, white grape, white wine, pepper, oak, hay, straw, herbal, grass, tea, wheat, and cracker; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light lactic tartness and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, peach, pineapple, melon, green apple, pear, white grape, white wine, pepper, oak, hay, straw, herbal, grass, tea, wheat, cracker, light funk/vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, tea, oak barrels, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from tart/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/grainy/acidic, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is an awesome sour/wild ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, tea, oak barrels, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mellow acidity/tartness. Classic Jester King house funk with nice kombucha tea balance. A really enjoyable offering.

Capped 750 from Corti Bros. Pours light gold with a slight, transient white head. Aroma is mildly sour, maybe pedio, with some wood and possibly citrus? Med body or nearly. Flavor is sort of light citrus/pedio. Wood is present. In one way there’s not a lot to it. In another way there’s a lot of flavors - just that it’s not easy to pin them down. It’s a good experience.

On tap @ Borefts 2012. Golden yellow and blurry in the glass with a medium sized fading and lacing white top. On the nose I get a lovely sourness of leafs, lemons, something herbal-spicy and really refreshing. Buddhilisious! The taste is just as good as the aroma, if not even better. A subtle but really present lemonade-sourness with a just perfect bretty tone. So refreshing and quenchable! This is yet another one of those I really could drink lots of. Just a damn good beer! 28.09.2012

On tap at Funk n Sour Fest. Pours a cloudy yellow with white head tha quickly diminishes to nothing. The aroma is funk sour fruit and kombucha. Thin mouthfeel with a tart sour fruit with very sour finish. Wow really enjoyed this one. A very impressive sour ale from Jester King.

750 ml bottle received in trade. Thank you Jeffrey! Pours hazy and fizzy pale yellowish golden with a small offwhite head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace on the glass. Smell is tart, fruity and yeasty with peaches, apricots, mandarin oranges, white grapes, dry peppery yeast, dry wood, Chardonnay wine, raspberries, lactic tartness, strawberries, crackers and hints of rubber. Taste is sour, tiny bitter, tart and fruity with white grapes, mandarin oranges, apricots, peaches, pineapple, dry wood, white wine, raspberries, sour fruity yoghurt, wild strawberries, crackers and lime juice. Mouthfeel is round, tart, slightly dry and light bodied. Finish is tart and fruity with pineapple, apricots, rubber, wild strawberries, raspberries, dry wood, white grapes, crackers and hints of bilberries. Great refreshing stuff!
