Darker than Evil and smoother than a late show host. Chocolate, bitter espresso, and vanilla ride up front, closely tailgated by roasty, nutty notes. Oats and wheat round things out with nitro delivering a supersonic smooth ride.

Can from Tesco Supermarket, Blackley. Black with a thick and smooth light brown head. Smooth tasting stout with a richness to its coffee and chocolate notes, which are quite gentle, as is the effect of the high alcohol content in this one, which is well hidden within its taste. Light roasted nose.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Tesco. Pours deep brown with a dense, creamy beige head. Medium to big sweet flavour, some creamy coffee, gooey chocolate, raisins. Full bodied, lightly chewy, fine carbonation. Light warmth in the finish, some creamy chocolate, espresso, roast, earth. Really solid.
