Saint Petersburg is a fabulously full bodied chocolatey, malt flavours with coffee finish combine to produce a great Imperial Stout.

Draft at Thornbridge. Black pour. Aroma of roasted malt, bitter coffee and cacao. Rich taste of cacao, roasted malt, coffee, cream and a nice long finish. Tastes fuller than its abv. Nice.

On tap @Buskers Pub (Rome). Pours deep brown/black with a minimal beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, light licorice and smoke, a metallic note, oxidation. Flavour is medium to light sweet with a decent bitter end. Medium body, light carbonation. So so...

500ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is coffee and molasses. Taste is slick, flavoursome, lots of coffee, some peat and ash, subtle cocoa & liquorice. Proper Imperial Stout this, although an amped up 10% version would be quite nice too!

Clear dark brown beer, big creamy irregular beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots and lots of dried fruits, caramel, bit of chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: roasted start, pretty sweet, caramel, dried fruits, bitter hops, coffee. Aftertaste: toast, dark chocolate, bit sourish, bitter, hoppy, coffee, some fudge. Nice one!

At a tasting, thanks, quite stable creamy bubbly brown head, opaque black color, aroma of dark bread, prunes, some smoke and light herbal notes in back, flavor of shrubs, dark chocolate and dark fruits, with some roasted coffee. Fair and drinkable but not really exciting.

deep dark brown colour, medium sized beige-ish head; aroma of dark chocolate, earthy and herbal notes some liqueur and ash;taste of coffee, some earth, herbal notes and spicy alcohol; a bit watery and despite the relatively low ABV, alcohol can still be intensively felt
