A really excellent pale ale that would be good to have around. Amber color, full head. Nicely hopped, with citrus mainly featured, plus toasted malts and caramelly syrup. Well balanced, with a lively hop presence and rounded full mouthfeel. Another one of those that would have been borderline IPA 5 or so years ago.

Pour is a nice tan with a large white fluffy head. Aroma is slightly hoppy. Flavor is a bit on the thin side. There some piney hops in there but nothing really stands out. I know this is a APA and not a IPA but this could use more in the hops and malts dept. The beer is ok i guess. Clean and refreshing.

Pours a nice crystal-clear amber with a minimal head that laces a little as it diminishes. Aromas of citrus, caramel, mild hops and light spices. Flavor is malt heavy up front... maybe caramel would be the best descriptor, followed by a nice fade to cascade piney hops with a bit of citrus mixed in. Nicely blended.

Thanks to BennyTicklez for sending this. An off white head of creamy foam tops the clear, dark amber brew below. Light lemony hops aroma invite a taste. Lightly malty with the proper amount of hops for balance make this a very good Pale Ale. Very drinkable.

I have been slowly going though the collection of beers from this brewer. This was my first tasting of this particular offering. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a copper color with a large fluffy tan head. The aroma was sweet, fruity and hoppy. The flavor is strong with sweet malt and has a strong fruity hop presence with a dry flowery hop finish. The hops really linger on the tongue.

Bottle Pours a crystal clear amber with a small off-white head that settled quickley into a thin ring that ofers fine traces of lacing. Aroma is a nice deep malty, roasted grain. Wheaties. Easy on the hops too. The flavor is where the hops come out. Strong right up front but the malt comes to the rescue and balances it nicely, leaving you with a nice little birrter pucker at the end. The feel is pretty thick for the style I think and it goes down easy.

Nice hop nose. Hazy red amber, low head. Honey sweet berries with plenty of perfumed hops on top. Medium body, round mouthfeel and a perfumed aftertaste. Pleasant brew.

Paid $6.99 for a 6-pack. Amber in color- kinda cloudy, small, frothy head. Nice smell: slightly bitter grapefruit- pretty hoppy. As my tastebuds continue to evolve, and my liking of hoppy beers grows, I must say I enjoy this beer much more. Very hoppy, lots of hops all over- in the taste, in the aftertaste... everywhere. Reminds me a bit of some of the ESBs I've had. Not the greatest beer from Great Lakes, but definitely a good one. Much better this time around than last.

Amber-brown, most clear, good beige head. Fairly bubbly , good lacing. Aroma is of weak cascades, slightly soapy? Decent body, meaty and hoppy, less bitter and acidic than Sierra Nevada. Pretty good hops flavor, lightish caramel malt flavor. Very soft for the amount of bitterness in it. Good offering.

Re-rated from draft at GLBC, Cleveland. Similar in color to their IPA, but less hoppy (duh). Instead a distinct hop, I get more a solid "bitterness." Nicely balanced to the malts.
Original rating, 9/16/03. Score: 3.9. Draft. Has a big grapefruity smell and taste, almost like a wheat beer. The hoppy taste subtly changes as my glass warms up, to a more bitter aspect like an IPA. Excellent appearance and head for this style. I sampled this at a homebrew party among a sea of Oktoberfest beers, so this is a refreshing and welcome change of pace.
