Bottle from ASDA. Pale copper coloured with a thin, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and a touch of grassy hops. Flavour was rather sweet, with some buttery toffee, preserved fruit and a short, dry finish. Good.

Bottle. Clear amber color with a average frothy good lacing mostly diminishing off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, flowers, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Amber color. The aroma is a bit soapy. The malt profile is quite simple, but the hopping is better; medium bodied, bold bitterness (but not aggressive, well mixed). Would probably be very interesting if not filtered, i.e. cask coditioned.

Bottle from Morrisons Aylesbury 20-04-06 Amber colour with a slight maltiness in the aroma. Smooth and well balanced beer that that is most definately malty, slightly sweet but but not overly so and there is a faint trace of vanilla lingering in there which is rather pleasant. A good beer which I drank before a Snecklifter I should have done it the other way around.

(Bottle 50 cl) Only 5.2% ABV in my version. Pale amber with a handsome and rather stable head. Malty with a weak, nutty character and a dry bitterness. Rather light-bodied - perhaps even slightly watery - not that it spoils anything. This is a very pleasant and quaffable beer. Apparently brewed to celebrate the failure of an unfriendly takeover of the brewery. 071001

Bottle from Sainsburys: Amber colour with a white long lasting head. Aroma is fruity, i can smell apples and pears. But also malt. It has a malty taste and a litte sweet.But it leaves you with a nice bitterness in the aftertaste from the hops.

Bottled. Light brown beer with a vibrant light head. The aroma is caramel and hopped and the flavour is very dry and again caramel hopped. Overall a good beer that is quite strong and maybe too strong.

Quite aged sample ! Reddish-amber with very slight haze; coffee-cream coloured 1cm head, reasonably stable. Nutty, caramel, raisins, biscuity, woody touch. Sweet taste with an ever so slight sourish edge and a bitterish finish, bit walnutty, cake, and again woody, nearly tannin-like touch. Faraway hops. Medium bodied, slight tartness, even slight adstringency. Well, my sample was pretty old. In fact, I can read "naturally conditioned " which indicates non-pasteurised. No yeast, however. Not 100% convincing, or maybe the style isnโt just my favourite.
