Bavarian tradition, the archetype of the Munich beer, you can taste its history – this is Hofbräu Dunkel. Long before wheat beers and lagers wetted the throats of Germans, the bottom-fermented dark beer was quenching the thirst of Munich residents. The first beer, which was served in the "Braune Hofbräuhaus", still satisfies to this day with its roasted, hoppy taste and the subtle malty finish.

50cl bottle from el corte ingles, las palmas
label says brewed in muchen, watch out, a very similar labelled and looking bottle is brewed in the US
clear brown, brown smooth head.
aroma of rye bread, toasted malts, brown sugar
flavor is toasted malts, lightly roasted malts, rye bread, faint brown sugar, sort of like a vienna, but a bit more roasted and a little bit more sweet. Pretty well balanced, good solid flavor.

On tap in Vegas. Not a bad dunkel. Deep, dark color. Toast, roasty flavor. Not a strong aroma but malty with a touch of mocha.

Super malty, very bready, notes of caramel, hay, and syrup. Full mouth feel, soft carb. Low bitterness, quite sweet, a little muddled at the end, lack a bit in drinkability.

Bottiglia.

Bottle from Connollys Wine Merchants. Pours a dark amber/mahogany with lovely tight off white head. Aroma of malts, metal, raisin. Taste light toasted malts, caramel, plum, brown sugar. Light to medium bodied, slick. Enjoyable.
