Spécial De Ryck is the flagship beer of our brewery, created in 1920 and brewed according to the original recipe ever since, using only the purest ingredients. It's a amber coloured speciale Belge ale with subtle maltiness, a fruity flavor of delicate hops and a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Tap at the Bonte Koe, Leiden. Poured a hazy straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma yeast light malt. The flavour is light bitter, with a dry malt, light fruit hop palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

orange in the glass, sweet and grainy in the nose. The beer starts way to sweet and slightly clove-yeasty. The "typical" Belgian-Ale characteristics are there, but lie under a hard to describe layer of malt and muff. Unround. The aftertaste is sweet. malty, yeasty with clove elements, bitter and highly carbonated.

gouden/amber/oranje van kleur, troebel met zeer licht aroma van fruit smaak licht zoet, licht zuur, citrus en ietwat hoppige ondertonen lichte body, vrij dun, wat waterig, weinig complexiteit afdronk: licht zuur blijft overheersen en droog --- Beer merged from original tick of Special De Ryck on 17 May 2018 at 16:24 - Score: 5

Light hazy amber colour, off-white head. Fresh malty aroma, fruity, banana. Light sweet malty flavour, light sour touch. Malty finish, banana tones.
Refreshing, not too outspoken, rather nice for a speciale Belge.
