The 2007 Anniversary Ale features prominent usage of Cascade hops– the signature hop used in Sierra Nevada’s most popular product, Pale Ale. It is an American Style IPA with a big, fragrant pine and citrus hop aroma balanced by the sweetness of two-row pale and caramel malt. It finishes with an additional Cascade dry-hopping creating a big hop aroma Sierra Nevada fans will look forward to.

Thick draught like head even though it came out of a bottle. Leaves lacing. Amber color. Flowery and hoppy aroma. Sweet flowery hops in the taste. Pretty nice mouthfeel. Not too bitter. Some citrus taste in there as well.

Bottled(355ml). -Dark golden coloured, medium sized off-white head, spicy citrusy nose. Typical sharp Cascade hops, mild alcoholic and light fruity taste with citrusy and herbal notes. Soft mouthfeel, long slight hoppy aftertaste.Very good IPA.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. Off-white head recedes to coat surface. Mild resin aromas. Crisp and well balanced with upfront caramel malts and a lasting pine and grapefruit finish.

Sampled at Brew at the Zoo at the National Zoo in Washington DC. The girl pouring the sample said that this was her favorite of all the Sierra Nevada beers. Whoop dee doo. Pours a orangey copper with a very frothy, active white head. Smells fairly standard, wasn’t overloaded with hops, just a touch of grains and biscuits. Mild nose to say the least. Flavor was the same, some citrus, some bread, nothing to knock your socks off. Finish was a little bitter, but fairly weak. The cascade hops should have been the star, instead this was one of the more disappointing beers I tried all night.

Uh oh, smells alarmingly hoppy. Not hazy but certainly on the orange side of the color spectrum. Nice looking head that does not fade. Flavor is big brutal bitter green grapefruit rind and pulp. Lingering bitterness comes across strong, I’d say this is DPA or IIPA territory. A lager lover will find this quite coarse and rude to say the least. Even after the session is over, this stuff lingers like a visitor who has worn out his welcome.

12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Reddish amber pour with a nice three finger head. Great retention. Pine and citrus hop aroma. Very strong hop taste, vegetal and very fresh. Some sweet malts to back it up. Refreshing.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a small off-white head. Fruity nose, of the tropical kind, with malty sweetness and piney hops. Quite sweet flavor with fruityness, pine and resin, but not as bitter as expected. Medium to full body, and a nice fruity and resiny finish. Good drinkability, but not a thirst-quencher.(080620)
