Bottled. Slightly hazy ruby red colour with mediumsized reddish-white head. Aroma is sour cherries, some wood and mild herbal notes. Flavour is bit sweeter cherries with some wooden hints, as well as paperyness. Aftertaste is cherries, some sourness and wood. refreshing.

bottle - Pours deep red with a thin head. The aroma and flavor are both all about the cherries. It’s sweet, medium bodied, and full of cherries. So you won’t find complexity here, but I thought it had a decent, robust flavor that avoided alco-pop land.

Cloudy orange-brown-red body, medium off-white head. Super sweet, simplified candy version of Rodenbach, cut with modest sourness, but enough to make things interesting. The intense cherry flavors remind me of Pixie Stix. Different.

11.2oz bottle poured dark amber with off white to pink-ish head. I get a big fruity aroma of cherries, sour powder cherry candy and cherry flavored cough drops. Wow, the flavor has lots of lively fresh tasting sweet cherries and soda like sour cherries. Cherries. Cherries. Cherries. A little too much like a cherry soda than a beer and no real yeasty mustiness I thought this beer might have.

Deep red coloured body with hardly any head at all. Aroma of sour cherries, sweet sugars and a bit of malt. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong cherry sweetness up front fading to a pleasant sour feeling. Mild malt was noticeable and a bit of spice also detected - but this one is all about the cherries and the sweetness. Overall, I liked the beer a lot and thought it was a good take on the style. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 09-July-07.

Bottle. Pour is a darkish red brown with a cotton candy colored head that dies back quickly. Aromas are of tart cherries. I’m just not sure how I feel about this one. On the one hand, it is kind of pleasant... but on the other, it is more like a cherry soda than a beer and there is a bit of a metallic note in the background that throws off any pleasantness in the aftertaste. Then again, it has a niced balanced cherry presence that is nice. Then again, at under 4% can I take it seriously?

On tap at the Sharp edge Creekhouse in Pgh. I’ve been waiting to try this since I had Roden Classic, an excellent brew that was fun. The pour on this is dark with an orangish red hue. It is not opaque and the head is creamy off white with larger bubbles mixed in with the fine creamy ones. If you don’t look closely, the head looks like it has speckles in it. The aroma is pleasing as a fruit wine. Very interesting flavor with the first impressions being Roden Classic, but milder. I think the original rodenbach excellent flavors may be partially obscured by the attempted fruitiness. The carbonation in this brew is medium low. Very little tingle is present on the back of the throat. The finish is above medium satisfaction with no bitterness. Some may consider this slightly watery but I find it refreshing. Overall a very good repeatable brew that is easy to drink and appreciate. As good as Lancaster Strawberry or Wittekirk Rose. An excellent performer in a style group that is full of below average flavors.

Bottled(330ml). –Shared with Doggythedog at the Hopdevil in Zagreb
Nice red coloured, medium sized pink head, sweet cherry nose. Sweet cherry aroma with lots of sugar. Slightly sour finish. Refreshing but very artificial brew.
