Our goal was to brew a Belgian dark golden blond quadrupel with an enormous potential of aromas and flavors, and added complexity due to oak barrel aging. Bourbon barrels from Kentucky were chosen due to their very special soft roast quality and noble vanilla flavors. Year upon year, different quality controls were executed, and we finally decided to bottle condition this very special ale in May 2012. Another three moths of cold maturing was done at the brewery, so we could be sure about the absolute quality before releasing to our customers

Really nice quad. Quite complex due to the barrel aging. Collab with Rio, a Japanese brewery I've somehow never heard of.

22 November 2025. GBV Tasting: Struise en kaas feat. Tim DR (Jan Yoens). Cheers to the whole crew!

Hazy dark brown, stable, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of ripe grape, dried banana, candied plum, wood, vanilla, old milk chocolate, apple peel, brown sugar. Taste has sweet raisin, banana & grape in a brown-sugary, brioche- & toffee-like malt body. Long fruity finish offering notes of wood, vanilla (bourbon!), candied cherry and vague herbal hops; a dash of warming port-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily, bit sticky texture, soft carbonation. Very elegant and deliciously fruity.
