(33cl-bottle) Hazy, amber colour with a huge and slightly tanned foamy head. Intensively hoppy aroma, slightly piney with fruity notes of grapefruit and pineapple, combined with a cara-malty sweetness. Bitter and subtle sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft and well-matured carbonation. Cara-malty base with a tinge of licorice and a fruity and slightly oily hops character; dry and bitter fruity finish, also quite lasting finish. This one is much more balanced and impressive than the Mikkeller Warrior IPA I´ve had before (16.VIII.09).

On tap at In de Wildeman. Light hazy orange colour, thick off white head. Aroma is full on hops, sharp peppery notes with grapefruit, sugar and a bit of dirt, really nice. Flavour is peppery hops, grapefruit, caramel, sugar, fruits, liquorice root, good bitter hoppy finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich with hops and quite bitter. Could use some more flowers and caramel.

Deep orange body with a tall off-white head. Fresh citrus hop aroma. Distinctive Cascades flavor that never goes out of style. Not as exotic as some of the newer hop flavored IPAs, but Cascades IPA are classic and this one is right in there.

Bottled at de Proef. Bright orange with a bit of haze. Flowery and citrusy aroma. Nicely hopped, but not overhwelmingly so. Nice IPA in the American style.

Bottle. So I love the concept of this series... pours a dingy orangish brown with a fluffy head. Aromas are sweet... pineapple and papaya with a lot of caramel malt. To be honest, I’m disappointed right now because I’m not sure if my nose could pick out the difference in aroma between the three of these that I’ve tried... I’m not sure if the beer has aged a bit too much or if it wasn’t dry hopped very much or if I am just defective... Anyhow, flavor is more unique... A bit of a blast of pine hits the palate just before this beer hits it, which restores a little of my confidence in myself and Mikkeller. Still, there are some interfering pepper and caramel flavors that seem to get in the way of the hops experience... It gets a little mired down or something here...

Bottle from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Hazy copper color with a four finger beige head. Pine needle aroma. About medium body with sharply frothy carbonation. Flavor is lots of pine over lightly roasted caramel. So much pine I’m not really getting much of anything else. Meanwhile the head is doing a lot of circular lacing. Finish is pretty hoppy, but a mild, not burning bitter, hop. IBU might be around 100, but the hop is restrained. Still my mouth lining may eject. Damn but this is good stuff. The desert island ale.

Bottled, Pikkulintu. Dark amber color, good cloudy off-white head, Sweat, cascade hops, some fruityness in the nose. Quite sticky-hoppy, dry hoppy flavor, woody. Straightforward, maybe not the tastiest hoppy beer but ok.

Bottle shared with Elisabeth at Henrik Øl og Vinstove. Partly clear, amber body. Filmy layer that left spotty laceworks on the glass. Sweet fruity to the nose. Hoppy citric flavour added by a touch of anise. Prolonged bitterness to the ending. Fresh mouthfeel. Easy drinking and easy to enjoy (Bergen, 18.06.2009).
