Midway between a Belgian blonde and a triple, its pale sweet malt notes never fail to charm the palate.
Brewed for the first time in the summer of 1996, its name was inspired by a nun who, after tasting a beer for the first time, said it tasted better than holy water (eau bénite in French). Amen.

2004 Vintage bottle@Kulminator: sampled, golden/white with white head, bit creamed taste with dough, wheat, yeast & spices as well as “aged” flavours with substantial malt body, might have peaked a bit but it is not like they make this anymore, not bad but not exciting either

bottle from Raadhuskiosken, bornholm pours clear light golden, with a smooth small white head. aroma is the kind of spicy you get from belgian yeast, some tartness, cellary notes (mouldy), floral notes. flaovr is faint caramelly, dry, strong, faint yellow fruity, faint cellary, flowery herbal note, reminds me of bierede de garde as well as belgian beers. I would have guessed the alc. slightly higher tnan 7.7%

Warning! Early amateur rating! Amber coloured beer. Pleasantly fruity but not cloying. Dry finish. Good.

Bottle found in a supermarket in Paris. Bright gold with tongs of bubbles and a large head. Grainy, malty, spicy flavor. A tripel, but low hopping. Too sweet. Ok, though, clean and refreshing, if not very interesting. A nice little sour edge.

Sampled from Unibroue’s sample 12-pack (January 2005). Poured a hazy beige-golden-orange colour with sediments swimming around. The head was a nice white and creamy with bubbly lacing and long lasting. The aromas and tastes are signature from Unibroue’s beers on the lees. The nose was spicy and fruity with a small alcohol scent. The mouth was of sweet malts, honey and mild fruits. It was not bitter and the finish was smooth and clean. The mouthfeel was medium and not very carbonated. This beer is a great competition to the Duvel. It was a very easy drinkability for a strong ale.

Found in France. Lots of head on the pour, have to slow down with this one. once poured it looks perfect - I’m more than happy to give it a 100% rating when it deserves it! Slightly foggy yellow, bubbles burbling up from the bottom, serious head on top. Just great. Aroma is all apples, different apples, but an apple mixture nonetheless. Taste is a light mix of sweet lees and citrus, hints of coriander, lots of hops. Lots of things going on in tandem and a very sweet taste but good nonetheless. Just an okay mouthfeel, unintruding. I found it very nice, especially after spending so long with horribly bad mass-made French lagers.

Bottle.Ap: Golden hazy, small white head. Ar: Fruit sourness. Rhubarb, apple... Fla: Big fruity taste. Could have used some tartness in finish. Ov: Very interesting fruit dominated triple.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass is very zippy. First gulp is washy, but becomes better to the end. Nice yeasty and dry, prickly and a bi scratchy finish. Not bad!
