Draught at BJ’s Clearwater location, on January 30, 2017.Clear dark brown to black color, dense tan lasting head. Sweet, malty, light estery, alcohol taste. Alcohol, estery aftertaste. Medium full mouthfeel, medium low bitterness. Malty, sweet scent.

Tap at Charlottesville location. This is an imperial stout? Pours not quite black - definitely can see through it. No smell. Taste is... somewhat unpleasant. Liquor, some chocolate, some coffee. A little sweet.

Sampled on draft at the Pittsburgh location this beer poured a black color with a large creamy beige head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, vanilla, malted milk, coffee and cocoa. The flavor was vanilla, coffee, cocoa, toasty malts, malted milk and a mild bitterness. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Quite nice.

4-5 oz pour on draft at BJ’s (Gainesville, VA location) with a Mustang Sally yelling DCLawyer. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of caramel, coconut, light whiskey. Tastes of caramel, chocolate, cocoa. Medium body with a dry finish.

21st May 2015: BJ’s Laguna Hills outlet. Part of an eight glass flight. Last and strongest beer of the eight. Looked fine, ruby hue to the dark body with a good tanned foam blanket on top. Malty and smooth feel to the brew, however the alcohol is not hidden too well as the malty flavour is not deep enough to carry the 8.5% ABV. Thought the beer OK but preferred the PM Porter to this in their dark beer selection.

[2/21/15] Draught at BJ’s Mission Valley in San Diego. Clear dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, chocolate and alcohol note. Sweet flavor with dark fruits, licorice, a bit of chocolate, a roasty finish and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied.
