50cl can. Pours clear dark amber with a lasting, small, off-white head. The aroma contains caramel, sugar, some nuts and red fruits, and alcohol. It tastes heavy to medium sweet and light bitter, with an astringent, bit dry, alcoholic finish (the typical ’Gordon’s Finish’ which I’ve already encountered in the Finest series). Surprisingly light body for 8,4%, watery/sticky texture, fizzy carbonation. Not as bad-tasting as some other beers by Gordon, but never likeable. Wonder what those "finest ingredients" are...

On tap at a restaurant in Genoa. Pours red/brown with a small off white head. Aroma is spiced, malt, and caramel. Medium sweetness, somewhat tart bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture. Heavy going really and seems to punch above its abv - would perhaps work better on a park bench than with good Italian food...

Ambar oscura, cobriza. Aroma a malta y caramelo. Sabor algo metálico y bastante alcohólico en lo negativo, y caramelizada y lupulada en lo bueno. En conjunto no está mal, para comer. Sola puede resultar bastante cansina.

Brown color with a white head with short duration. Aroma has notes of caramel and toasted malts. Flavor with dry fruits hints, toasted malts and burnt sugar. Mild bitterness in the final.

Helder roodbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is sterk en licht kruidig, caramel en drop. Blijft helaas niet lang hangen.

Also tasted as Gordon Halloween. Malt liquor-like interpretation of the Vienna lager style, with off-white, thin and unstable foam and pure copper colour, cristal clear. Doughy sweetish aroma, dry cookies, lots of anything but subtle liquorice, candied cherries, apple peel. Very caramelly taste, sweet with resinous mouthfeel, sugary, smooth and slick, thin finish with gin-like, almost astringent alcohol and insufficient hops. Awful and artificial like the rest of its range, but I guess the alcoholics at which it is aimed, could care less about that.

Can, consumed at Nic and Anna’s leaving party, Merton, Oxon, Saturday 12th July 2014 Drinking this straight from the can at about 2-3am when if truth be told I didn’t need anymore, so no idea on colour. Sweet malty with a fair bit of toffee and caramel. The can gives it a very industrial look which fits rather well. A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov10 2.7
