A dark, sweet, full-bodied plum porter. Background notes of damson and blackcurrant are followed by the fruitiness of the plum in flavour and aroma.

Bottle from Morrisons. Pours black with a large thick creamy beige head. Aroma is very sweet with plums, blackcurrent and flowers. Taste has more plums, blackcurrents and flowers with added notes of milk chocolate. Has light roasty notes on the otherwise sweet finish. Thin to medium body and very smooth mouthfeel. Ok for a flavoured Porter but probably will not seek out again.

20/2/2021. Bottle shared at the third Ipswich Lockdown 3.0 virtual bottle share. Suffolk vs Norfolk. Bought at the brewery. Pours very dark brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma is very jammy, plum and damson, milk chocolate, touch of blackcurrant. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, quite watery, average carbonation. Aroma starts ok but doesn't really deliver.

Bottle from local Morrisons. Lots of boozy, rotting fruit in the nose of this one. It pours a dark reddish brown with a strong but temporary reddish-beige head. Dark fruit (wells plums I suppose) in the mouth, along with chocolate, blackcurrants and hints of coffee grounds. Finish is mainly about the fruit as well, but there is eventually some bitterness in the aftertaste. Not as intense as the Titanic version, and all the better for it. Very drinkable.

500ml bottle from Morrisons. Deep red pour, small beige head, fine retention. Aroma is big on plum jam, almost too intense in that its difficult to pick out anything else, although I can just get coffee as well. Taste is again big on fruity plum jam and also blackcurrent both of which are sweet and mildly tart. When this fades you have an interesting combination of the fruit, coffee, chocolate. The finish starts with berries and a nice bitterness but then it keeps building until the bitterness hits the gut. Moderate body, carbonation is fine. The balance is not quite right here but it is flavoursome and improved on this breweries' pale ales from Morrisons which are a bit bland.

20/2/2020. Cask at the Chelmsford Winter Beer & Cider Festival 2020. Pours very dark brown with a bubbly/frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of plummy dark fruits, sweet malts, caramel and chocolate. Medium plus sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average carbonation. Nice plummy chocolate finish. Bit soapy initially but got better.

Bottle from who knows where. Reddish brown pour with a beige head. Plum, red fruit nose. Taste is jammy red fruit, rose petals, cherry drops. Feels too artificial. Titanic do this so much better.

Aroma and flavour have intense fruity sweetness coming from the fruits. Also a light roast from the malts. Complimented by touches of jammy cake. It remains just light enough to enjoy as a pint.

Bottle. Morrison’s. Dark, cola brown. Super messy, lasting, semi lacing, beige head. Nose has plum jam. Damson. Some fudge chocolate. Dried vine fruit. Taste is light sweet, with a plum stone, and vinous bitterness. Light to medium body. Soft carbonation. Plum and chocolate bitter finish. Nice.
