Cask at The Ice Wharf, Camden, London. Standard almost lager aroma. Plain gold look. Sweet taste with a bitter kick. Very close to being nice but something was a bit off here.

Somewhat embarrassingly I had never rated this before in any of its formats. Cask at at Butlers Bell, Stafford. Pours a golden yellow with a small off-white head. There’s floral hops and grains in the aroma. In the mouth the first sensation is a tanginess, but with an underlying sweetness. Flavour has floral hops and biscuits with some underlying caramel. Later on it gets a little spicy and the finish is quite bitter. But overall it’s pretty bland.

Malty and zesty aroma, fruity. Clear gold body, persistant white head. Malty, zesty, drinkable. Very good golden ale. Third of pint, hand-pulled, pub, Lincoln
