12oz bottle pour a dark brown with some ecru head. Nose is exactly what it should be, malt, chocolate, light coffee, some nuts. Flavor has rootbeer, coffee soda, tootsie roll, bread. Dry finish.

Pours deep mahogany tinged black into a t. Mocha head crackles and recedes to nothing. Coffee and vanilla aromas. Shato with hot chocolate, vanilla and mocha upfront and into the sweet milky finish.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 2/15/2019. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, brown bread dough/crust, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, brown bread dough/crust, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery hop; and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, brown bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light smoke/char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is a delicious American coffee porter. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Not overly roasty/charred on malts. Great balance of nicely rich malts and fruity/nutty coffee complexity; with nice earthy hop presence against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Very classic tasting and well made.

From a 12 oz bottle, very dark brown with slight tan head. Medium body. Roasted grain aroma, taste includes bitter coffee and burnt malt. Charred finish not great.

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dry, roasty and bitter with coffee and a touch of cream. The flavor was bitter, roasty and smoky with slightly burnt coffee and a bit of cream. Medium length finish. Medium body.

More coffee than porter, with loads of coffee cherry acidity and a lingering, bitter java finish. Better than the beer side of the equation; the porter's thin and mostly nondescript, offering up minor notes of chocolate and roasted malt, but not enough to stand up to the overwhelming coffee presence. Drinkable, but one-sided.

Thanks to my brother in law for bringing me this to try with dinner. Nice dark pour. Nose is rich coffee. Tastes of classic dunks some malt and rootbeer and chocolate. Smooth palate lightly bitter. Not sure what I had first a Dunkin’ ice coffee or a beer but certainly my most two consumed beverages outside water since that day.
