(Bottle) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark bread, chocolate, treacle toffee, prunes, orange peel, dried apricots and spicy notes. Malty taste with caramel, dark bread, chocolate, toffee, liquorice, dried apricots, some orange peel and a mild spicy bitterness in a finish with a slight touch of alcohol. Medium body, quite sweet. Solid and well made old ale. Very nice.

Bottle from Beer Ma. Yeah, I'm always going for Traquair. Pours a dark murky brown hue with a tan head. A big malty nutty nose. Sweet, cocoa, oxidation, some deep hot flavors, rich caramel. Damn nice.

Flaska från SB. Mahognyfärgad klar vätska med lågt skum. TYdlig lagringstecken i doften. Russin, madeira, torkad frukt, fudge, karamell. Söt med mycket torkad frukt, väl dold alkohol, lagom mogen väl integrerade smaker men fortfarande kraft och värmande alkohol men i grund och botten ganska snäll. Men mycket gott och perfekt till en ostbricka.

Traquair 50 This is an Old Ale brewed to celebrate 50 years of brewing at Traquair and limited to 20,000 bottles. Served in a snifter it’s a brown so deep it seems black with a creamy head of beige foam. The aroma on this is awesome: dates, plums, just an incredibly rich stone fruit, toffee/fudge, molasses. This exemplifies all the best ways of making a malt forward beer. Medium body, some booziness and a semi-dry finish. The taste is dark pitted fruits (raisins, dates, plums), malts (caramel, sherry, fudge) and some bright berry notes as well. Man this is a good beer and the dark chocolate in the finish with the pleasurable warmth spreading from the pit of my stomach really makes me think this is a beer made for winter sipping. Get it while you can.

330ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges. Blackcurrant, raisins and leather in the aroma. Malty, fruity and rich taste with Dundee cake, cherries and blackcurrant standing out. Very easy to drink considering the abv.
