Bottled 500ml (BZ, BB 03/2012)
Deep ruby color, steady beige head. Very grassy and dark, ryeish malty aroma. Also hints of iron. Light to medium-bodied. Quite dry, woody, a bit cardboardish and rye bready malty flavor. Lingering hops and alcohol in the aftertaste. Decent German style dunkel.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Starts mild, almost a bit washy. Mild-malty. Neither dry nor sweet, somehow metallically and moldy finish. Not very drinkable. Not my favourite!

Bottle from Markgrafen, Würzburg
Dark amber color; generous head. The aroma initially has light, obvious, cereals, but also some delicate hopping, and finally some good malt with biscuity traces appears. The mouthfeel is very dry; there is some caramel, malt and traces of cereals; correct bitterness. Maybe a Landbier would be more fat. Pleasant Dunkel, the aroma better than the flavor.

Clear amber with a tiny off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and nuts. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, caramel and nutty hints. Finished bitter from the somewhat grassy hops.

Bottle, 5.3%. OK hay aroma. Clear dark amber colour. Big stable tan head. The flavour has some hay as well, a little malt. Hint of stable or something, perhaps also a faint butter note. Good mouthfeel.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also lighter notes of hops and straw. The flavor is sweet malty again with primary notes of caramel, but also light cardboard notes, leading to a bitter end.
