500ml bottle. Opalescent, dark ruby colour with small to average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, dark sulphureous head. Minimally toasty, caramel malty aroma, notes of caramel, a touch of malt lozenge, dark honey, whiffs of toffee. Taste is mellow, caramel malty, hints of caramel, some dark honey, malt lozenge, a touch of dry sherry, minimally woody overtones; minimally warming, alcoholic finish.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation.
Surprisingly alcoholic, some subtleties - nice.

Bottled. Copper colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is figs, some candy sugar, mild toasted tones with some alcohol sweetness. Flavour is figs, some toasted tones, mild nts, some herbs with alcohol giving quite some sweetness too. Also very sweet malts in the finish.

Bottle picked up from Faust brewery webshop, Miltenberg. Consumed at home Easter Sunday 4th April 2021 outside after a housework blitz and some gardening (planting Gooseberries, Rhubard, Heidelberries), about to start cooking 'stuffed aubergine rolls with melting mozzarella'. We're listening to Jane Weaver - Flock. Pours chestnut, maybe a little lighter in colour, pretty good clarity, the head swiftly departed. Some sweetness, however it drinks surprisingly easy for the abv, a little chewy dark toffee, soft moutheel, molasses. Like this.

Brown with a fleeting head. Aroma of plums, oak and caramel. Taste is mildly sweet on a somewhat thin and inert body. Okay.

Many thanks for this beer in sentimental swing-top bottle to Mariusz. Wyraziste.

"Faust Doppelbock dunkel", Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Kastanienbraun, klar.
