Brewed with fresh pineapple juice and fragrant Denali hops, our Pineapple Milkshake IPA is a big-hitting juice bomb with a huge fruity aroma and a delicious spiky bitterness. We’ve added lactose in the boil here to offer a smooth, creamy texture as well as adding an extra layer of sweetness. As well as the sweetness and extra mouthfeel, the lactose provides a very subtle hint of vanilla which blends beautifully with the pineapple to leave a perfectly balanced pint with layers of flavour and texture.
This punchy IPA was originally brewed as part of our 5 Barrel Project.

(Can) Pours clear yellow with tiny white head. Aroma of pineapple with somewhat confronting notes that remind me of durian. Medium body, smooth with fine carbonation. Nice pale ale with pineapple and lactose. Pleasant bitter finish. Very nice.

One of the strangest beers I have consumed. Pour is normal, dark gold with small white head and a little halo retention. Aroma is confectionary pineapple and lactose. Taste starts bitter, then a stewed pineapple (not fresh) kicks in then almost as quick the lactose and vanilla double down in flavour with a background of maltiness. After this the bitterness builds and builds until you can feel it grinding in your stomach but that might just be my metabolism! I like my milkshakes fridge cold but this might not work for milkshake styled beers! Maybe they should point that out on the label. The mouthfeel is far and away the best part as it has quite a thick body and low carbonation which works well with the milkshake style. To be honest I'm not wholly convinced by pineapple with milkyness anyway (even in yogurts) and then combining that with beer- it would take a masterstroke to pull off flavour wise. It was a decent effort, and I don't hate it, but its an unbalanced beer.
