Cask at GBBF 2010. A pitch black beer with a tan head. The aroma has strong roasted notes combined with medium hoppy notes. The flavor is sweet malty with extremely storng notes of liquorice - too much for me, combined with some roasted malt, leading to a dry, roasted, woody, and liquorice finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear dark brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light light heavy malty, roasted, coffee. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20100804]

Opaque black beer with a suddy tan head. Fresh minerally dark malt. Not bitter but quite dry. Just a light touch of licorice. Some sublte fruit in the undertone. Tastes okay but too dry.

Cask@GBBF2010. Quite much pitch black colour, not much head. Aroma is fruity, ashy, earthy, liquorice as well as some slight ryebready and toasted notes. Flavour is liquorice, some salted liquorice, earth and mildly chocolaty.

From cask. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and liqourice. Sweet malty, hardroasted, mild liqourice and sweet toffee. Ends bitter and with a persisting light liqourice note.
