07-08-19 // bottle shared with the local crew. Thanks! So different but so nice. Nose is strange. Very dry cacao nibs on a dry ipa body without hops. Gropu didnt really liked, but I enjoyed due to the very unusual taste. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cacau IPA. on 07 Aug 2019 at 22:29 - Score: 8. Hazy light tan. Aroma is older, stale hops and chewy malts. But the cacao really shows up on the palate. It’s balanced with some nice chocolate sweetness and rich, chewy earthy bitterness. Ends up being a pretty nice beer, despite the uninspiring aroma.

Orange color, hazed, thick white head, nice lacing. Caramel malts with candy sugar on top with heavy bitter hops and a leftover of burnt cocoa. Average carbonation full heavy body creamy texture. Bitter finish. Interesting.

Pours dark blonde, with a good white head. Smell is that f white chocolate- buttery and all - plus some bitterness. taste is likewise. Storng cacao taste, in between milkchocolate and white chocolate ( white, building up to milk ) , over a medium-bitter backbone. Certainly interesting ! If this beer were regularly optainable for me, I don’t think I would drink it often though, and I can clearly see how people can strongly dislike this. But for now and than, this unique ( to me ) combo might just be the thing you’re after. And personally, I like it ! The only thing I kinda dislike is the weird sweetness.. Is it the cacao? Is it a special Brazilian ingredient ? Is it because of the combo ?

Bottle from tderoeck. Many thanks. Hazy dark amber/brown colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Sweet nose of pineapple, citrus, milk chocolate, caramel, fudge. Very strange combination. Sweetwith bitter finish. Not really my cup of tea.

Bouteille 310ml via trade with Marlos. BB 01/2016.

Bottle thanks to Henrique Braga. Pours hazy amber color with medium sized beige foam head that settles down rather fast, floral hops aroma mixed with citrus peel, medium carbonation, slightly bitter taste, medium finish with bitter aftertaste. I did not get any whiff of the cacao advertised, but quite a passable brew.

Post Borefts Tasting, Tulip Hotel Room 118. Lightly hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and a little dry. Floral malts, very light chocolate. Modest citric hops. Light semi dry finish. Well it’s chocolate and it’s an IPA! Good fun.
