First brewed in 2008. We brew Wandle Ale using traditional methods and materials sourced locally from English producers. We use Maris Otter malt from Warminster Maltings, one of the few remaining floor maltings in the country. We use a combination of traditional Fuggles and Goldings hops varieties, together with the more modern Boadicea hedgerow variety to flavour our beers. All of the hops used in the brewing process are whole leaf which give Wandle its distinctive hoppy taste and aroma.

Small creamy offwhite head. Pale coppery body. Light milky floral aroma with fruity notes. Dry-sweet floral caramelly strawy taste with herbal hoppy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish floral fruity aftertaste with papery herbal notes. Nice. Intensely drinkable, and very traditional. (0.5l cask at The Sun Inn, Barnes, London.)

Cask at the London Brewers Showcase. Pours clear, orange-gold with a soft, white head. Light hop and malt aroma with some honey and grass. Fairly sweet with more honey, plus mild spice, bread, corn flakes and some earthy bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Lightly bitter finish with some lingering bread notes. Decent.

Cask, handpump at The Boaters Inn, Kingston upon Thames, Thames Tipple Leg 9 Hampton to Kingston Upon Thames 13-03-10 Pours warm gold with some bubbles but no head to speak of. Nicely tangy with good bitterness. Lightly citric in the mouth, little bit of fizzy fruit, good stuff. A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3

Cask @ The Bree Louise, Euston, London NW1. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.
