Swing top bottle, 2013 vintage. Wild that a 10 year old swing top is still remotely drinkable. Pours a muddy brown, no head. Legs. Huge dates and malt and booze. Rummy. 7 2 7 3 13

Bottle online from The Trembling Madness. Pours a light mahogany colour with no head. Aroma is complex with dry dark fruits, jam, berries, caramel, brown bread and warming alcohol. Taste is extremely sweet with lots of warming alcohol up front. I’m not sure if this has been matured in barrels but i am also getting some woody spirit like notes with lots more dark fruity notes, some vanilla and lots of brown sugar. Very full sticky mouthfeel. A bit too cloyingly sweet after a few small mouthfuls. Very strong winter warmer to sip and last all night long! Too sweet and strong for me in general but certainly worth the visit atleast.

A dark brown beer, a head is small and blond. Aroma has strong frutiness, which is mainly in dried form, also some over riped notes, apricot, smooth maltyness. Aroma has strong sweetness of malts, dried fruits, apricot, raisin, fig. Full bodied. This is very sweet, but on the small portion still drinkable. Quite monster as expected. Complex.

Bottle picked up from (forgot where?), consumed at home Thursday 11th May 2023 listening to the legend that is Gideon Coe on his last ever 9pm - midnight slot on 6Music after over 15 years, hoping that he will play my request of Colorblind James Experience - Considering a Move to Memphis. We had Spaghetti Bolognese for tea. Pours deep gold/amber, the head disappeared in a millisecond. Warming, a little boozy, a bit sweet but it's a nice honey sweetness, this is really good, dried fruits, some vanilla, this is excellent.

Bottle. Clear, mahogany body with no head. Slightly oily consistence, looks great even without any foam on top. Strong aroma with lots of malt, toffee, dry fruit, nuts and noble alcohol. Taste is amazingly complex and well balanced for a beer with such a massive malt base. Lots and lots of sweet malt in different layers, toffee, bread, biscuit, dry fruit and totally integrated, smooth, soft alcohol. Full bodied with endless lasting aftertaste. So sweet, and still not sticky, the alcohol, bitterness and some kind of subtle fruity acidity makes a wounder out of this. A true masterpiece.
