Can from Connolly's Wine Merchants, my version at 5.2%. Light hazy orange-gold with moderate sized white head, nice retention and lacing. Aromas of banana, clove, flora, citrus zest. Taste is an interesting mix of doughy malts, grain, hoppy orange, spice, flora notes and the classic banana and clove. Medium bodied, frothy carbonation, quite bitter for a Hefeweizen. Great take on the style.

Can. Hazy yellowish orange colour with a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is spices, some slight spruce and mild bananas with a bit of toffee and some mild wheaty tones. Flavour is wheat, some spices, mild grains and some slight funky tones and fermented until quite dry.

Gravity cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Mid- to dark gold with a loose white head. Lemon peel, garam masala, almonds... the aroma is pulling up quite a few interesting and disparate notes. The sweetness of the yeast lies on top of an acrid bitterness - juxtaposition as opposed to balance. Lingering medicinal finish. Oily body, flat carbonation. Kinda messy.

Keg at the Mad Squirrel, Wycombe. Clear gold with a white head. Light banana with a hint of spice, with citrus can Ng through after. Clean taste, and atypical of the style in that it's quite refreshing. Kind of a cross between a hefe and a gold in fact. Quite enjoyed it.

Can 440ml (BGz, BB 05/2019)
Hazy yellow-orange colour, medium-sized white head. Suprisingly spicey Saison-like nose. Light-bodied. Some banana but mainly peppery, fruity flavour, some farmhouse. Not very typical Hefeweizen. Gone Saison :=)
