Saison du Japon is brewed with a local wheat and koji (malted rice) which is a vital ingredient to create Sake. This beer has a uniquely sweet flavor of rice koji and a natural acidity caused by the fermentation.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt (Lager, Munich), wheat malt, rice koji, Yuzu juice, hops (Perle, Kent Golding, Pacifica, Hallertau), Ale yeast.

--Keg at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. -- Hazy amber, creamy head. Fruity nose with mild marzipan. Dry with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Crystal malt, some grain and hay. Low to medium bitterness.

Pour is a dark blonde with a large white head. Aroma is fruit and honey with toasted wheat. Flavor is again a kind of odd fruit with a decent yeast ester and finishes with some wheat malt. This was a decent saison with a lot more fruitiness that your typical saison. But, while pretty decent the $5 a bottle price is a bit of a put off.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.0%. Brownish-orange colour, small head, slightly off-white. Aroma of yeast, wort, boiled rice, stale orange marmalade. Slightly sweet flavour, yeasty and fruity, hints of grain and rice, somewhat better than the aroma. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Heaven knows what makes this a "saison".

Bottle. Slightly unclear golden body with a small white head. Mild but typical sasion aroma with esters, pale malt, a bit fruity and floral hint. Taste has pale malt, apple, esters, spicy yeast and moderate bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. A pleasant one.
