This beers namesake, Brother Joseph, was a monk and artist who used found objects such as marbles and chunks of concrete and tile to build miniature shrines and buildings in Cullman, Alabama at the Ave Maria Grotto. We have named our Belgian Dubbel after Brother Joseph as a testament to his perseverance, hard work, creativity and his indomitable spirit. A full-flavored abbey-style ale with a complex taste and aroma, Brother Joseph’s Dubbel is filled with specialty malt and dark fruit character.

On tap at the Nook. Pours a clear copper color with a thin head and little lacing. The aroma is apples, caramel, brown sugar, and pineapple. The flavor is crisp and sweet, with very little bitterness, and a slight tartness in the middle. The palate is light, crisp, and clean, with very little carbonation, and a clean finish. Overall, an interesting yet easy-drinking beer.
