Fresh Haze IPA

Can from a Whole Foods in NoVa or something like that: pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is hefty citrus and tropical fruitiness. Kind of like a mix if the so called tropical IPA and an NEIPA. Not exactly on trend. Still solid. Very soft and easy to drink. Spicy onion finish.

12 ounce can from Woodman's Oak Creek, 11/7/18.Hazy orange, large foamy white head, good reteniton. Aroma of orange juice, pale malt, a bit of pine. Taste is orange, tangerine, tea leaves, pale malt. Medium bodied, juicy, decent balance. Solid.

Kroger can. Pours hazy gold with a large off-white head. Aroma is citrusy, mainly orange, but hints of lemon and grapefruit as well. Flavor is very fresh-tasting: orange ring and zest, grapefruit , light lemon zest, light tropical notes, pine. Very tasty.

Amber; might not have been hazy at all had I not poured all the way to the bottom of the can. Fluffy white head. Aroma of kumquats, bread, some minor tropical notes. Somewhat sludgy texture. Sweet with tenor register citrus and a fair bit of resin coming through to a resinous bitter finish. The fruit is vibrant but the gloop detracts.

Super hazy orange and copper coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of oranges, fresh cut grass, citrus, coriander seed, a touch of curacao and some sweetness with a little alcohol warmth noticeable in the nose. Medium-bodied; Very sweet orange flavour at first with a lot of grass and dryness noticeable along with a touch of hay and some more earthier elements that finishes with some bitterness, but a lot of citrus flavours and resin towards the end. Aftertaste shows some dry flavours and a good deal of malt balance throughout, but the hop bite from the citrus and especially the pure oranges shows through more than anything with a little alcohol as well. Overall, a nice and enjoyable beer with some good elements, but I still prefer the 'original', Freshly Squeezed instead of this one, although this was good to try and not at all bitter in terms of an IPA. I sampled this tall, 19,2ounce, 568 mL can purchased from Hy-Vee in Omaha [Papillion], Nebraska on 06-November-2018 for US$2,99 sampled in my hotel room here in Council Bluffs, Iowa on 07-November-2018.

From a 19.2 can. Pours a hazy gold with an off white head. Aroma is dusty citrus. Flavors are moderately bitter citrus and pine.

19.2 oz can from Albertsons. All aboard the hazy train. Orange golden body with small fizzy head. Mild citrusy aroma, taste is a bit stronger, but not outstanding. Light citrus and a bitter sting. Ho hum.

From can to pint glass. Aroma is faint citrus. Nothing off putting, but not a strong IPA aroma. Appearance is slightly hazy, closer to a traditional west coast IPA than the typical beer that bombastically includes "haze" in its name. Slight spicy aroma developed as it warmed. Flavor is orange and it is moderately high bitterness. A bit watery, but it seems to work with the orange. Not too bad.

12oz can pours out a light hazy golden topped with a white head. Nose is nice big citrus hops it's like a PNW Hazy IPA sweet malts and a nice hop. Taste is more of the nice big PNW note hops citrus not over sweet and has some light bitter balance.

Poured from a 12 oz can with a best by date of January 9, 2019. Aroma is malty with cracker, biscuit, honey and caramel. Moderate pine resin and grapefruit notes. Faint hints of tropical fruit. Pours a moderately hazy, copper orange with a medium large, thick white head that recedes steadily to a thin film that lingers. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor has a medium light sweetness with moderately strong malt flavors. Rather strong, assertive bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Cracker, biscuit, cramel and honey malt notes with fairly strong grapefruit pith and pine resin hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a disappointing hazy IPA. The beer is hazy but it doesn't add any of the characteristics expected of the hazy styled IPAs; the haze is superficial. Also, I hate the best by date. Let me know when the beer is made so I can decide when it's best by. This can is dated at least 3 months out.
