Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - copper with a nice fluffy head. Nose - something funky in amongst the biscuits. Taste - an astringent version of a hobnob. Palate - close to medium bodied with a dry crunchy texture and an astringent dry finish. Overall - it’s just about solid but it grows.

500ml bottle: BBD end of Dec 14. Poured into a Batemans pint sleeve on 14 Sep 14 at home. Good chestnut body, clear and clean looking, thin off-white wisp and collar for a topping. Good malty feel to the aroma and taste, not sweet, yet malts rule the smell and flavours from start to finish. Pleasant and easy to drink, a decent semi-dark malt based brew.

Bottle. A finger-thick light beige head over a mostly clear dark amber colored body. The aroma is quite malty, with toffee and caramel and some dried fruits. Not much impact from the hops neither in the aroma nor in the flavor. Some bitterness and a touch of grassy, piney hops. Medium body, with a soft carbonation. Semi-dry. Decent bitterness in the finish, with some caramel and toffee-ish malts and a hint of prunes. Nothing impressive going on here, but at least it’s flawless. 140808

World cup and England on tv. The sun shines and a pint of bitter in the glass. Can it go wrong? Oh yeah. England and World Cup are a bitter story. The bitter ale was far better than the bitter match. Uruguay 2- England 1. Nice deep nutty color with a fine off white head. Ok body and an good carbonation. Bottled bitter are better than handpull. Maltt, nutty, mild herbal and some fruity notes in both aroma and flavor. Decent ale.
