What better way to commemorate a fresh start than with an uber-fresh beer? This variant of our Enjoy By IPA series features innovative brewing techniques that give it a bright effervescence and a super-dry finish. It makes for a great craft beer alternative to traditional “bubbles,” and it’s still blasted with enough explosive hop flavor to rival any fireworks display. Enjoy its refreshing notes of citrus and peach before, during or after the holidays... just not TOO long after.
While this beer is brewed NOT to last, here’s hoping your resolutions are the opposite.

Super clear copper and peach coloured body with a thinnish, ultra-fast dying pure white head on top. Aroma of alcohol, resin, pineapple and a heavy dose of flowers and grasses. Light to Medium-bodied; Syrupy sweetness up front that doesn't have much malt body, but does have a lot of alcohol and astringency, some bitterness from grass and grain and a tiny tropical fruit sweetness noticeable towards the end, but the alcohol is strong throughout. Aftertaste shows the pungency first and foremost from the alcohol, but also the astringent bitterness from the hops is shown in crisp (as desired) floral and herbal notes with a lot of barnyardie funk from the yeast strain noticeable at the very end. Overall, an interesting beer that I feel was executed slightly better than the New Belgium version, and this one is higher alcohol and from a brewery that I don't typically enjoy, but this was better, but still not worth buying or trying to find. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 23-December-2018 for US$3,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on 15-January-2019, just fourteen days after the label says to, but I was in Hawai'i at the time and didn't have access to this one.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/26/2018. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly crisp/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 9.4% after the finish. Overall this is an incredible imperial brut IPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; dangerously smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink; with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Amazing mixed profile of 12 different hops. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; with a nice bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness from crisp resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing spot on style example.

Can pour into pub glass from Greg & Jane's Beer and Wine. Appearance is lightly hazy orange-yellow with trace sparkle, finger-width, off-white foamy head with poor retention and light soapy lacing. Aroma is moderately strong tropical fruit and citrus balanced by equally strong bready backbone. Taste is initial tropical fruit and lighter citrus muted by crisp, yeasty, bready back half. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average-to-lively carbonation, mild pleasant alcohol warmth and dry, yeasty dominant but still mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, Brüt contribution is noticeable in taste and palate. Pretty good representative of the style (which will probably be its own style in short order).

32oz crowler pours with a crystal clear pure gold body that supports a thin white head of foam. The aroma offers up thin malts and esters and then vague hops that seem like a blend of grapefruit and booze. The taste delivers tepid grapefruit and clementine like citrus hop juiciness flowing quickly into a modest degree of citrus hop bitterness. Around those notes the experience is muddled in some esters, tired tasting hops and booze.

Can sample at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks Tom L. Clear golden, white head. Piney hops, citric, somewhat oniony, sweetish malt, bitter finish, some alcohol.

The Aromas are the best part here, hops, melon, cracker, in a little peaches. I'm not a fan of Brut ipas as they're out of balance. This one is no exception. The dryness accents the bitterness resulting in a long very bitter finish. Body is a little soft and weirdly that doesn't help in fact seems to make it worse. Kind of chalky. I hope this brute IPA thing ends quickly
