Draught, 9.0% at the brewpub. Weak malty aroma. Dark brown colour. Seems hazy and has a red or chestnut shine. Stable light brown head. The flavour is sweet and fruity, has a strange berry note, like raspberry jam, cherry and other red berries.

18/10/2019. Tap, part of their taster board, at Astra Brauerei St. Pauli, Hamburg. Poured mid to dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, bread, dried fruit, aniseed, herbs and brown sugar. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness with light tartness. Moderate body, oily watery texture, soft carbonation. Had saved this until last expecting bigger things.

Certainly hides the 9% abv well. Clean, with a big roasty sweet body. I would have never guessed it as a weizenbock. Good beer. Astra brauerei Hamburg

Draught @@ Astra Brewpub, Reeperbahn, Hamburg. Pours dark brown with a tan head, light lacings. Aroma of sweet malt, wheat, caramel, light sweet dried fruit. Flavor is sweet, wheat, caramel, fruit. Thin to medium body, average carbonation, sweet finish. 090219
