It’s true, Wrexham Lager is back. Since the sad day that it closed in 2000 we know that a lot of people have missed the original great taste of Wrexham Lager and now after 10 years absence that great taste is back.
Brewed in a brand new micro brewery in Wrexham using the original recipe and the same ingredients combined with modern machinery to deliver Wrexham Lager as it was best loved and brewed over 100 years ago.

Klargulbrun med hvit skumring. Lukter malt og litt sitrus. Lettdrikkelig. Ganske søt i smak. Malt og en anelse sitrus.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Crystal clear late straw coloured body, slowly diminishing white head, clingy lacing. Quite inviting, clean pale malty nose. Fine blended taste of pale malts and oily hops. Mid-dry ending, pale malty. Clean on the swallow. Easy to drink. Well made lager version. (Tromsø, 28.05.2024).

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Nose is all, clean malts. Rich, malty body, yet not overly sweet. Faint hop note with little bitterness. Excellent quaffable Lager. 270324

[33cl bottle from Home Bargains, Bracknell.] A straw coloured pour with a white head; malty aroma; sweet malty taste with a light bitterness. A run of the mill lager.

Bottled. Golden colour small white head. Aroma is grainy, some herbal tones and some earthy notes. Flavour is fruity, grainy and some herbal and mild wooden notes.

Bottle from local ASDA (as Wrexham Export Lager) – drank at home. Pours lemon yellow with a small white head. Aroma is sweet and slightly metallic – can’t pin it down any further. In the mouth there is an initial malty sweetness, before some continental hops give a bit of bitterness. Flavour has corn, grains and buttermilk. Gets sweeter again after a while with cane sugar. Not awful, just bland and inoffensive.

Bottle from Asda, High Wycombe. Clear yellow-gold with a negligible white head. Looks, and is, aggressively fizzy. Sweetish, watery with a hint of sweetcorn, butter and citrus, but mainly bland and fizzy. It's not great - no wonder this is called Export, presumably they want to get it as far away from them as possible.
