One of the later additions to the Bornem range of authentic abbey beers.

Bornem Blond is een ‘levend’ abdijbier van 6% volume alcohol dat net als de andere speciaalbieren van de Brouwerij Van Steenberge nagist op fles of op vat. Dit bier van hoge gisting wordt gebrouwen met zorgvuldig geselecteerde moutsoorten die een heel zacht en fruitig aroma geven. De licht bittere afdronk is te danken aan de nauwkeurig uitgekozen hopvariëteiten. Hierdoor zal u een aparte verfrissende smaak ervaren. Bornem is een erkend abdijbier. Slechts een kleine helft van de abdijbieren in België is erkend. Het bier wordt gebrouwen in opdracht van de Sint-Bernardusabdij te Bornem.

330 ml bottle. Pours amber with full head. Aromas of leather, spicy phenols, a bit of sulphur, lemon, coriander and sharp toasted malts. Flavors of plastic phenolics, spice, lemon, a bit of coriander and cereal like malts. Not a top Belgian IMHO but easy to drink when well chilled.

330mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a medium off-white bead. Aroma reveals lots of doughy malt, spicy Belgian yeast, a little coriander, and bready malt. Flavour is gently spicy, with tons of doughy malt, bready malt, a hint of coriander spice, and low residual sweetness. Carbonation is standard for a Belgian. Not the most complex Belgian ale, but there's a decent yeast expression and the balance is fine. Pleasant.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 25A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 04DW 07:13 (BB 04/04/25) AROMA: medium-low grainy-sweet malt aroma with medium-low to low esters (orange) and light spicy phenols. low background metallic note. APPEARANCE: gold color and translucent. large white head with good retention. TASTE: initial medium-low grainy-sweet malt flavour with faint esters. medium bitterness with a dry finish. low background metallic note. MOUTHFEEL: high carbonation with bubbly sensation. medium body. OVERALL: an average belgian blond, not that much complex in the mouth.

Bottle from Lidl, Inverurie. It pours clear blonde with a handsome frothy white head. The aroma is soft, sweetish, white bread, twist of citrus, pear drops, ripe melon, icing sugar, sherbet, some warming spice, clove rock, cereal and hay. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, firm, snap of bitterness, light acidity, lemon - lime, estery fruits, pear, apple, melon, sweet white bread, rich tea biscuits, cracker, cereal and a nip of booze with a dry, sharp finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Nice sharpness/freshness to it. Not one of those sweet blonde ales. Moreish.

Eingetrübte goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, fruchtig mit Citrus, würzig, leicht hopfig. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.
