Smell-weak hops. Foam- thin, hops, weak malt, weak Belgian. Head is large, white in color. Appearance- cool bottle cap, and I guess unique label. Clear orange amber, weak carbonation. From-pint Taste - weak malt, weak hops, weak Belgian, faint yeast, weak alcohol.Below average Belgian, bit boozy.

Bitterness over straw malt. Mild esters with a little banana floating around under. Middling bitterness that lingers with a rye malt.

Bottle gifted by friends. Pours very clear, golden, big white stable frothy head. Scent of cornsyrup fills the room - not a great start, but what did I expect? mild spices ( BE yeast phenols) sweet and simple impressions. Taste is overtaken by the very high carbonation. The duvel-wannabe character rises quickly, as it's got a very similar hoppy note. Victoria ( probably named as such since Duvel's original name was Victory ale) is far less balanced though, too sweet for the style (and the corn syrup flavor really doesn't match). i'm pleasantly surprised with the bitterness, that's assertive rather than the lower IBU I expected. However, it doesn't seem natural due to how fast it fades. The beer embodies perfectly what it truly is. A wannabe duvel copy with cheaper ingredients. That being said, and my hatred for inbev asside, it's not undrinkable, not even unpleasant - as far as industrial beers go even pretty decent. However, politically, I'll always and forever rather support true passionate brewers than this industry-destructive money machine.

33 cl bottle at Gullivers, Sheraton Brussels Airport restaurant. Proper glassware. A hazy dark golden pour with a thick, finely lacing, long-lasting, off-white head. Aroma is not too intense: apricot, custard, lemon zest, nopal cactus, dry orange. Boozy, which renders it slightly sweet at first. Full-bodied, not too crisp. Low carbonation. High bitterness with grassy notes. Long-lived. Not bad, certainly better than what the score might suggest.

Can. Classic macro, but one of the better ones. A bit astringent, but mostly clean, drinkable at least. A bit phenolic and grassy. ABV hidden well. Otherwise a bit empty but ok.

Bottle. Clear golden. Marzipan, alcohol, light yeast, apple, pils malts, soft grassy hops. Not too malty, strong alcohol and quite some marzipan. It’s not horrible but not very nice either.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, deep golden with a dense, white head. Spicy, floral, slightly yeasty aroma - odd hit of licorice. Rich, fruity body again yeasty and spicy with a light bitterness. Absolutely well crafted for the style. 151222
