Champion Strong beer CAMRA Huddersfield 2012; SIBA North silver medal 2012 in Premium Strong Beers category. Strong IPA with a blend of US hops – Citra, Simcoe, Cascade, Chinook and Amarillo. Strong West Coast USA influence, low bitterness, tons of fruity flavours and aromas balance a solid malt backbone. Dangerously drinkable.

Handpull cask at the Strugglers Inn, Lincoln. Dark, almost brownish gold and clear with a small off-white head. Light aroma with cereal, TCP, some dried grass. Tastes fantastic: bitter at first, then it sweetend only to turn far more bitter in the finish. Hop oils rest on the back of the tongue after the sip. I like every sip more than the last. Surprisingly complex and a very English IPA.

Bottle at home in London - probably sourced from Kris Wines or something. Pours clear, rich amber-gold with a frothy, off-white head. The aroma holds well toasted crackers, caramelised sugars, pine, ripe orange. Medium sweet flavour with rich toasty-bready character, some further crackers, citrus peel, bitter and oily pine. Medium to full bodied with somewhat chewy texture and massaging carbonation. Resinous in the finish, oily and piney, with some grassy bitterness, toasted grains, wholegrain bread, more ripe citrus fruits, a bit of alcohol warmth. Decent stuff overall.

Dobre IPA po angielsku. Wyglad to slabienka piana jak to w brytyjskich zresztą. Barwa niemal klarowna, miedziano bursztynowa barwa.
