Cask handpull at Metropolitan Spoons Baker Street. Gold hazy thin white head. Bit fuller in the mouth than I was expecting from the look of it. Toast toffee aroma. Ok in mouth slightly green apple. Some hop sting on the finish. Ok but it doesn’t quite go anywhere.

Cask, handpump at The Big Society, Cowley Road, Oxford, Saturday 19th October 2013 in company of Loz & John at The Gathering music fest. I asked for a taster of this but the barman gave me a very generous pour (I didn’t think he’d stop) so unusually I considered a rate. Busy large head, gold/light amber. The french hops are not really that assertive and struggle to lift this from being just an ordinary bitter/golden. Bitterness is verging on the safe which wouldn’t be a problem if there was more going on. A little fruity in the mouth starting to head towards a dry finish, its ok but the Big Society house beer brewed by Shotiver is so much better. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0
