A well hopped pale ale using Pilgrim, Fuggles and East Kent Goldings for a gentle bitterness and a dry hoppy finish. Deceptively drinkable for it’s strength.

Hand-pulled pint in the Crown Inn, Oakengates on 19th September 2024. Another one of those beers you're sure you've had before and have never rated somehow. Anyway that's now sorted with this write up. Clean and clear golden body, decent white cap on top. Solid blend of slightly bittering hops and a semi-sweetness from the malts, pleasant all round, a proper English Bitter.

Bottle online from The Natural Grocery Store. Pours a hazy amber colour with a thinnish soapy looking white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, honey and biscuits. Taste has more caramel, toffee, honey and biscuits with a fair amount of peppery spice and a biggish dry grassy and earthy hop finish. Thinnish body, slightly fizzy and oily mouthfeel. The initial taste was quite nice but a harsh bitterness on the end ruined it for me.
