A classic India Pale Ale, with a resolute hoppy kick and lasting citrus finish. An American amber malt profile adds smooth caramel notes, balanced with Chinook, Columbus, Centennial and Eureka! hops.

[50cl bottle from Sainsburys, Bracknell.] A bright amber pour with a scant white head; citrus and pine aroma; full bodies with a sharp citrus taste and then some pine resin and grapefruit to give a strong bitterness. Clean and fresh with long lingering hops.

Handpull cask at the White Swan, Leeds. Brownish gold, clear with a thin off-white/beige head. Light syrupy fruit notes, some bready malt. Sweet taste, lots of citrus and stone fruit, with a light bitterness in the finish is. Smooth, full, body with minimal carbonation. And IPA it ain't but it's a nice little traditional beer.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a hazy golden orange with a small foamy white head and good lacing. Slow to settle but does so eventually. The nose is melon with some general citrus. The ititial mouth sensation is bitter with fruity hops. Later on mango rises to the fore plus traces of pine and spices. Finish is fruity with citrus leanings. Bit of an acquired taste this.

500 ml bottle, from Bier Huis, Ossett. ABV is 5.0%. Clear deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of malts and toffee, hints of caramel and earthy hops. The flavour is first malty but not very sweet, followed by fruity and earthy hops, with a rather sharp piney /resinous bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle at home from Morrisons. A reasonable pour and an aroma of bitter hops. The taste was that of a typical English IPA/best bitter and there was quite an odd mouthfeel to this that I didn't particularly enjoy. A soft and sweetly metallic sensation and taste dominated the whole beer that I found unpleasant towards the end of the pint.
