Bottle from the brewery in Portland on a trip there. Pours a clean copper colour with amber highlights. The head is mocha-coloured with average retention and decent creamy lace. Aromas of nuttiness and molasses with some mild alcohol, chocolate. Flavours are milder, with darker malts giving notes of nuts, chocolate. Hints of rusty water - not sure if hops in here are appropriate. Seems to get on track before the end, so decent brown ale. Nothing more.
