Taking cues from traditional British and European brewing and hurtling them into the 21st century, Nocturne is our modern take on the classic porter. Dark, rich, and smooth mashed with six different malts including a healthy dose of pale chocolate, lightly hopped with Columbus and fermented on our house yeast blend.

Keg at the bottle shop druid Street. A clear nut brown coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is nutty brown malts, mild smoke, toasted malts. Flavour is composed of earthy rustic bread, toasted Rye, light metallic, Palate is light tang, highish carbonation. Good.

Keg at MS HW, 07/01/19. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is chocolate, mellow roast, dried fruits, brown sugar. Taste comprises bitter sweet notes, roast malts, light coffee bean, balanced spice, brown sugar melt, hint of liquorice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid porter.

440ml can via Hoptimism's advent calender. Pours dark brown to black with a tan head. Aroma: huge roast malts & dark chocolate. Taste: light sweet & moderate to heavy bitter, dark chocolate, hints of coffee & smoke. Thin to medium body, fine carb, earthy bitter chocolate finish. Tasty

Can from Hoptimism and advent day 11. Deep chocolate brown to black colour with a tan. Chocolate aroma. Light bitter to bittersweet taste. Full smooth body.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours deep black-brown with a foamy, khaki head. Lovely bitter, ashy roast character, lots of dark chocolate, old leather, scorched earth. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Finishes with more earth and ash, bittersweet baking cocoa, burnt sugar. Great stuff.
