Beluga is a bold, roasted Russian Imperial Stout. Complex and luxurious, we get the requisite
chocolate and coffee flavours, but enriched with subtle hints of leather and dried fruits. Take
your time to savour this beer, as it needs rumination, and just might provoke deeper
contemplation.

Can picked up from HonestBrew consumed at Silver Dawn Cottage, Horning, Norfolk Friday 7th December 2018 in the company of Scott, Mandy & Kids, Mum and Keith . Pours black with a large tan head. A touch of brine on the nose but this is intermingled with coffee and chocolate. Coffee, chocolate in the mouth, a little salty and with a dry finish, roasty also. It's a good Impy. 33cl Bottle from Drinks & Gifts. Black colour, beige-brown head. Aroma of lots of lovely roast, dark chocolate, coffee, hint of soy sauce, caramel. Flavour is bitter, roast, coffee, dark chocolate, some caramel, bitter finish, hint of ink. Full bodied, smooth. Just enough sweetness to balance the roast. Classic non-BA RIS. Good.

330ml bottle, thank you MosterMagnet for this! Pours dark brown, alsmost pitch black with some beige foam. Nose is powerful, filled with roast character, light cocoa, not much sweetness there.Taste reveals a sturdy body but again without much residual sweetness. Lots of roast bitterness, even getting close to Black IPA but maybe too much roast bitterness here and not enough hop bitterness. I do like this kind of stouts as well, they don't need to be sweet, sticky and syrupy.

Pours black. Big off white head. Smell is roasty. Taste is roasty, rather dry. Surprisingly bitter. Strong flavored, but a bit one dimensional perhaps. OK to low body, with a high ( way to high) Carbo. Bitterness last. Roastyness is in place, but has free play due to lack of complexity. Alcohol is noticeably strong, but not boozy. All and all, a good beer, but nothing I'd seek out.

Black with creamy head. Aroma and flavour initially are quite mild with some dark bittersweet hops. Later some sweeter, rounded chocolate notes come through.

Sampled from tap at Van Moll Fest 2018. Almost black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of dark chocolate, some coffee and hints of licorice. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty taste of milk chocolate, hazelnut, some coffee and a touch of vanilla, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter and slightly earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!
