Tap at the brewpub. Black pour with a tan head. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate, dried fruits, and cacao. Taste is sweetish initially, malty, roasty, earthy, but then takes a surprisingly bitter, dare to say hoppy turn. Big bodied with soft carbonation. Nice American(ish) impy.

Opaque colour, big brownish head. Aroma is roasted with hints of licorice. Medium-bodied. Very classic Imperial Stout: roasted with tobacco, coffee and hints of licorice. No nonsense.

330ml can. Pours black with a big beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roast malts, leather. Taste is quite rich, chocolate, roast/coffee, leather, liquorice, dried fruits, even some peaty notes in there, bittersweet finish with a touch of warming booze. Full bodied and smooth. A beautiful RIS.

Black beer, tan head. Smells of coffee, malt, a little leather. Flavour has fruit, anise, coffee, sweet and toasty malt, a little hop. Rich, well balanced, has a nice boozy warmth in the finish.

330 ml can. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, vanilla, mocha and soft roasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional licorice and more a raspberry influence than dark fruit. Really nice
